The initial version of GeM portal was developed and hosted by Directorate General of Supplies and Disposals (DGS&D) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry with technical support of National E-Governance Division (NeGD), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.

Since GeM is a portal for both buyer and seller, the documentation and registration are also different for both of them. Two types of account, one is a primary seller and secondary seller account can be created on the Seller account. There will be always one primary Seller and/or Service Provider for a Company

Buyer Oriented Custom Bidding functionality has been launched on Government e- Marketplace (GeM) portal to facilitate Institutional/ Big Buyers so that they can float their own Customized e-bid, when requisite Service Category is not readily available on the Portal

4. Fill in all the Details asked in the next form. ...
5. After filling in all the details, the Activation mail is sent to the email.
